Heritage Alliance Miss Cross River Social Development Initiative
Heritage Alliance Miss Cross River Social Development Initiative is based in Cross River State situated in the South South of Nigeria. This initiative is the social development arm of the Miss Cross River Pageant, a pageant for young ladies in the state organized by Heritage Alliance an Entertainment and Communications outfit. We use the public platform of the Pageant to champion youth led change.

Youths in Nigeria today are under a heavy yoke of poverty, unemployment, and poor security.  Despite the fact that youths are amongst the most disadvantaged, they hardly feature as change agents in communities. Speaking out and even believing that one is capable of making changes seems to be a rare trait amongst the most vibrant group, the youths.

Our Approach
One of the objectives of this pageant is to use the office of the Queen (Miss Cross River) to undertake youth led social development projects. The reign of a Queen is one year and the projects can span within this limit or continue with the next Queen(s).
It is important to note that in the course of the reign of a beauty Queen, she is expected to attend functions, media events and interact publicly with various members of the society. She gives speeches, hosts' events and as a result is a prominent example of an opinionated young person interacting with her elders, peers, Government, and her community at large.
We take advantage of this celebrity platform to
Generally, stimulate awareness on issues.
Undertake social development initiatives.
Collaborate with groups that require publicity and advocacy.
Inspire her peers and earn the respect of her elders as she udertakes her functions.
Engage varied stakeholders we interact with
(business, community, government agencies, ngo's, individuals).
